Lovers of the great outdoors may select from twelve city parks that contain 652 acres and numerous picnic and play areas. The city employs a full-time Parks and Recreation Director who administers year-round activities.

McPhetridge Centennial Park - Main Street & Broadway

 

  • Completed August 1997 for Weatherford’s 100th Birthday in 1998

  • Paved with Centennial Bricks donated by city residents, businesses, and organizations

  • Gazebo, fountain, landscaping, and time capsule welcome visitors to this historic site of Weatherford’s first bank.

 next to Means Park (1.9 acres)

  • Swimming, toddler & wading pools

  • Basketball goals & horseshoe pits

  • Play area with stage & volleyball court

Condor Park -

Condor Drive & West Main Street (0.3 acres)

  • Play & picnic area

Heritage Park - across from City Hall (1.2 acres)

  • Veteran’s Memorial

  • Memorial Tree commemorating the Murrah Building bombing

Lockstone Park - Saber Lane & North Washington (0.3 acres)

  • Small play area featuring a rocket slide

  • Picnic area with plans for a future pavilion

Means Park - Huber Street between Caddo Street & Indiana Street (2.1 acres)

  • Restroom facilities

  • Gazebo & two pavilions

  • Two acres of play area

  • Picnic tables

  • Croquet court under construction

Rader Park East - Northeast of Weatherford (260 acres)

  • 11 Soccer fields

  • 1 Baseball field

  • Sand volleyball court

  • 2 Softball fields

  • Bird sanctuary

  • Don Mitchell Rodeo Arena

  • Archery range & trap range

  • 3 Horseshoe pits

  • 7 Tennis courts

  • 2 Basketball half courts with six more to follow

  • 10 acres with community activity bldg.

  • 18-Hole golf course, clubhouse, & enclosed cart storage

  • Nature trail with fish observation pond

Rader Park West - across from Rader Park East (160 acres)

  • 7 Baseball fields

  • 4 Softball fields

  • One mile long, black top walking trail with natural wildlife

  • Many large play areas

  • Seven acre stocked fishing pond with picnic areas

Thacker Park - 4th & Huber Streets (0.9 acres)

  • Pavilion

  • Basketball goal

  • Play area with gym & tube slide

Tom Stafford Park - Tom Stafford Street between 8th & Broadway Streets (0.3 acres)

  • Monument to Gen. Thomas Stafford & his family at the site of his family home

  • Flower gardens & sidewalks

  • Gazebo

Triplett Park - across from Condor Park (0.3 acres)

  • Large play area

  • The Cedar Schoolhouse is located is here. The Cedar Schoolhouse is a one room schoolhouse established in 1902.

Weber Park - North Washington Street (5.1 acres)

  • One large & two small pavilions

  • Sand volleyball court

  • Large play area with creek & hills
