Stafford Air & Space Museum is located at the airport. The museum houses a collection of model military aircraft, NASA photographs, and other interesting items collected and donated by Gen. Thomas P. Several 1st and 2nd stage rocket engines and six military aircraft including a F-86, MIG 21, T-33, T-38. An F-16 Fighting Falcon is also on display complete with Sidewinder Missiles.
Also displayed are full-size replicas of the "Wright Flyer" and the "Spirit of St. Louis" as well as space satellites.. In 2006 a full size Titan rocket measuring 90 feet long was placed as an exhibit.
In 2007 suits and other Apollo mission artifacts arrived from the Smithsonian. Plans include a German made V2 rocket, an Agena rocket, and several different types of bombs for the F16 fighter. Coming later the summer of 2007, the space center will have a full scale replica of the Winnie Mae along with Wiley Post and a complete display of scale rockets of the world.
Rounding out the museum collection are spacecraft models, videos of Gen. Stafford’s space missions spanning three NASA programs, memorabilia presented to him by the people of the Soviet Union during his historic Apollo-Soyuz mission.
