OKcommerce.gov Launches New Wind Section for Site Selection Consultants and Community ED Professionals

Considering the state’s generation capacity, location, available workforce, and competitive business costs, Oklahoma is the ideal location for wind generation, tower and blade production, turbine component manufacturing, repair and maintenance operations, and industry R&D.

To help site selection consultants quickly access the information they need about Oklahoma’s emerging wind energy industry and help community economic developers land generation and wind-component manufacturing facilities, OKcommerce.gov recently launched a new section called Oklahoma is Wind Energy.

You’ll find the following:

·         Capacity maps and details on Oklahoma’s prime areas for wind development;

·         Transmission development updates;

·         Information on Oklahoma’s project-ready certified sites;

·         Cost of doing business rankings;

·         Incentive details, including a sample incentive package for wind-component manufacturers;

·         Available workforce and training information;

·         Maps and information on Oklahoma’s transportation modes—waterways, highways, airports, and railways; and,

·         Details on Oklahoma’s research and development facilities.

Other features planned for Oklahoma is Wind Energy include property spotlights, case studies, and freight provider and wind-component supplier directories.
